TAYKA

Tayka Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Tayka is a photo-a-day app: everyone in the world gets the same prompt at the same moment, and you can't see anyone else's answer until you post your own. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to reach us.

What we collect

Advertising

Tayka shows one ad per day, at the bottom of the feed, and never between your friends' photos. Ads are what pay for the servers that store and deliver everyone's photos; that is the entire reason they are here. They do not start until you have posted a few times.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. By default they are contextual: AdMob is told nothing about you, and the advertising identifier on your device is not used. In that mode nothing about you leaves the app for advertising purposes.

Once you have been using Tayka for a few days, iOS may ask whether you allow Tayka to track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you say no, or never answer, nothing changes: you keep getting the same contextual ads. If you say yes, your device's advertising identifier is shared with Google so the ads can be more relevant, which earns more and so covers the hosting bill sooner. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

What we don't collect

We don't sell or rent your personal data, and we have no analytics SDK. There is no email/password login, so we never see or store a password. We don't collect precise location, we never read your address book or contacts list, and we do not ask for or store your phone number.

Where your data lives

Tayka's backend runs on Supabase, hosted in the US East region. Photos, posts, comments, and account data are all stored there, protected by row-level security rules that determine exactly who is allowed to read what. For example, a day's photos are invisible to you until you've posted your own that day, and blocked users cannot see each other's content regardless of who follows whom.

Companies that handle your data for us

Who can see what you post

Your photo and caption for a given day are visible only to people who (a) follow you and (b) have posted their own photo for that day. If you opt a post into "Top Tayk," a wider audience may see and vote on it. Comments on a post are visible to whoever can see that post.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. This permanently removes your photos, posts, comments, follows, blocks, and account record. It cannot be undone.

Reporting content or contacting us

If you see something on Tayka that shouldn't be there, whether abusive content, harassment, or anything else, you can report it directly from the app (on a photo or a comment), or reach us by email. We review every report and respond within 48 hours.

Blocking

Blocking someone in Tayka removes any follow relationship between you and that person in both directions, and hides their content from you and yours from them, including in Top Tayk. You can review and undo your blocks at any time in Settings.

Children

Tayka is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
